GRN West Coast clinched title in style

Grande-Rivière-Noire West Coast Football Club has officially been crowned champions of the 2024/25 National Division Two following a dramatic and tightly contested season.

Finishing the campaign with 40 points from 18 matches — comprising 13 wins, 1 draw, and 4 losses — GRN West Coast edged ahead of Port Louis Black Horns on goal difference to claim the title. Both sides concluded the season level on points, but GRN West Coast’s superior goal tally proved decisive.

Throughout the season, the team demonstrated a cohesive and disciplined approach on the pitch, scoring 36 goals and conceding just 17. The balance between a sharp attacking front and a solid defensive unit was instrumental in their success.

The club’s triumph not only secures silverware but also ensures promotion to the National Division One for the upcoming 2025/26 season – a landmark achievement in the club’s ongoing development.

“This title is the result of unwavering dedication from everyone at the club,” said a club representative. “From players and coaches to support staff and fans, it has been a collective effort. We are proud of what we’ve achieved and are already looking forward to the challenges that await in Division One.”

Promotion to the top tier marks a new chapter for GRN West Coast, who now aim to establish themselves among Mauritius’ footballing elite. The club will soon begin preparations for pre-season training and squad strengthening ahead of the Division One campaign.
