
Mauritius secured a 3–1 aggregate victory over Djibouti in the Women’s African Olympic Qualifier for the Los Angeles 2028 Games.
The Dodos won the first leg 2 – 1 at the Côte d’Or National Sports Complex on 4th June 2026, with goals from Eloisha Clair (1’) and Julie Gopal (90+7’), before confirming its progression with a 1 – 0 on the returning leg on the 8th June 2026, following Tracy Fourneau  decisive 75’ minute strike.
The opening fixture between Mauritius and Djibouti proved to be a highly competitive encounter, marked by sustained intensity and late drama.
Mauritius made an excellent start, as Eloisha Clair scored inside the opening minute to give the hosts an early advantage.
The Sharks of the Red Sea continued to control significant phases of play and appeared to consolidate its position when Bamlak Geremew scored in the (38’) minute.
In stoppage time, Julie Gopal scored a crucial goal in the (97’) minute for Mauritius.
The second leg Mauritius won 1- 0 as Tracy Fourneau secured the victory with a (75’) minute goal with a 25-meter strike.
By overcoming Djibouti, the Dodos progresses to the second round where they are scheduled to take on Ghana’s Black Queens.
