Savanne were crowned National Beach Soccer League 2026 champions after successfully defending their title at the conclusion of a thrilling and fiercely contested season. The decisive final matchday took place on Sunday, 19 July 2026, at the Blue Bay Arena, where the southern outfit once again proved why they are the benchmark of Mauritian beach soccer.

Having lifted the trophy last season, Savanne entered the final round determined to retain their crown. However, the battle for the championship remained wide open until the closing fixtures, with Moka and Beau-Bassin/Rose-Hill also in contention. In one of the closest title races in recent years, every point mattered, and the outcome remained uncertain until the final whistle.

Throughout the competition, Savanne displayed remarkable consistency, resilience and composure. Their balanced squad, disciplined performances and ability to deliver in crucial moments enabled them to edge past their closest rivals and finish at the summit of the standings. By successfully defending their title, the southern side completed an impressive league double, further cementing their reputation as one of the country’s leading beach soccer teams.

Although they narrowly missed out on the championship, Moka and Beau-Bassin/Rose-Hill deserve great credit for their outstanding campaigns. Both teams remained in the title race until the very end, contributing to an exciting and highly competitive season that showcased the growing quality of beach soccer in Mauritius.

The closing ceremony also provided an opportunity to honour the competition’s standout individual performers. Kursley Tailly of Beau-Bassin/Rose-Hill received the Best Goalkeeper Award after producing a series of exceptional performances throughout the season. His consistency, leadership and crucial saves played a significant role in his team’s successful campaign.

The race for the Golden Boot was equally competitive. Tommy Lebon of Rivière-du-Rempart finished as the league’s top scorer, edging out Ally Ayman of Port-Louis after an outstanding season in front of goal. Lebon’s clinical finishing and ability to score in decisive moments earned him the distinction of the competition’s leading marksman.

The National Beach Soccer League 2026 once again demonstrated the remarkable progress of beach soccer in Mauritius. The high level of competition, the commitment shown by all participating teams and the enthusiasm displayed throughout the tournament reflect the continued development of the discipline across the island.
