Relegation - The Eastern at West

The inseparables. That’s the least that we can say regarding l’Entente Boulet Rouge/Riche Mare Rovers and GRSE Wanderers. The two clubs from the East shared, quite regularly, a common destiny.

United in glory and disappointment. Six years after being promoted together in the Super League, the two teams based in the East were relegated to the inferior division, at the end of this season.

L’Entente Boulet Rouge/Riche Mare Rovers and GRSE Wanderers ended respectively at the two bottom places of the league, leaving hence the eastern region without any club in the elite league for the next season.

Champion in 2023, GRSE Wanderers has been neither more or less a big disappointment in the 2024/25 championship. The club from Grand-Rivière-Sud-Est finished last with only 8 points in its bag, recording only one victory in the league against Petite-Rivière -Noire FC.

Whilst the fate of GRSE Wanderers was sealed well beyond the conclusion of the championship, l’Entente Boulet Rouge/Riche Mare Rovers fought hard till the end, finishing with 16 points, but missing three points to avoid the relegation.

L’Entente Boulet Rouge/Riche Mare Rovers has not been able to keep its place in the Super League, due to lack of consistency. The defeat against Chebel Citizens at the penultimate week has proved to be irreversible.

Next season, l’Entente Boulet Rouge/Riche Mare Rovers and GRSE Wanderers will be playing in the division one with the challenge of rebuilding and to make their way back to the top tier.
