Cercle de Joachim, the invincible

For the second year running, Cercle de Joachim have claimed the National Super League (NSL) title, confirming its dominance in Mauritian football during the last two years.

The Curepipe-based club enjoyed an impressive unbeaten run throughout the season, securing not only the championship but also the title of the league’s best defense. With a squad full of quality players, Cercle de Joachim firmly stamped their authority on the competition from start to finish.

For his season 2024/25, Cercle de Joachim has been just invincible, recording a run of 14 wins and 4 draws in 18 matches, and becoming, henceforth, the third post-regionalization club, after ASPL 2000 and Curepipe Starlight SC to complete the league without a single defeat.

Grabbing a total of 38 points, Cercle de Joachim has proved to be irresistible, ensuring the title well before the end of the championship. The players of coach Rajub secured the second consecutive crown, when defeating their direct opponent La Cure Waves SC, and two weeks before the conclusion of the league.

With a tally of 46 points, Cercle de Joachim was simply untouchable. Proof if necessary, its twelve points preceding La Cure Waves SC at the final rankings. Pamplemousses SC completed the podium by finishing third at 16 lengths.

Champion in 2014, 2015 and 2024, Cercle de Joachim celebrated, this year, its fourth title to join Curepipe Starlight at this level, but remained two strokes behind ASPL 2000 and Pamplemousses SC as teams wining the most championship since the launch of regionalization.
