


For the benefit of the kids
Mauritius was the first nation to benefit from FIFA’s Grassroots Program, selected for a pilot project in 2009.This initiative marked a shift in FIFA’s development approach, focusing on children aged 6 to 12, in collaboration with member associations and schools.
This programme, in collaboration with the ministries of Sports and Education aims to provide every child with the opportunity to play football without discrimination and without the need for major infrastructures. A
Our Association have, yearly, organized regional festivals all over the island, which include coaching courses like the MFA/CAF License D. All the qualified coaches need to be part of the festival to complete their license.
The MFA also conducted two major FIFA Grassroots’ Courses regrouping 60 participants all over the region. These two courses main objectives were to plan and organize festival for the benefits of the kids of over 300 primary schools.
After the certification of the participants, they will need to go back in their different regions to share the knowledge with the other coaches. Meanwhile, our Association ensure that grassroots remain the top priority as this contributes to the future of football in Mauritius.
