Savanne... King of the sand

Savanne has been crowned national Beach Soccer champions after delivering a commanding performance to defeat Rivière-du-Rempart 7–3 in a thrilling final at the Blue Bay Arena. With a blend of attacking flair, tactical discipline, and unshakeable intensity, the Southerners left no doubt: they were the most complete and dangerous team in the competition.

From the opening whistle, Savanne set a blistering tempo, combining sharp technique with ruthless efficiency in front of goal. Rivière-du-Rempart, impressive throughout the tournament, struggled to match the pace and power of their opponents. Savanne’s relentless pressure paid off early, and as the goals kept coming, the gap in momentum grew wider. By full time, the emphatic 7–3 scoreline perfectly reflected the Southerners’ dominance and their total control of the final.

In the third-place playoff, Rodrigues closed their campaign on a positive note with a deserved 4–2 win over Grand Port. Still frustrated by their narrow semi-final defeat to Savanne (3–2), the islanders showed character and determination to bounce back and secure a spot on the podium. Grand Port, who had been outplayed by Rivière-du-Rempart in the semi-finals (4–1), were unable to rediscover their earlier form.

The semi-finals had set the stage for an exciting conclusion: Savanne had been pushed to their limits by an energetic Rodrigues side, while Rivière-du-Rempart cruised past Grand Port with a convincing performance. All signs pointed toward a tightly contested final—but Savanne had other plans.

With this resounding victory, Savanne claims a prestigious title and sends a strong message ahead of future competitions. Mauritius’ Beach Soccer scene has a new champion—and it proudly wears the colours of the South.
