USBBRH promoted after 15 years

After a 15-year absenceUS Beau-Bassin/Rose-Hill (USBBRH) has officially secured promotion to the National Super League, marking a momentous return for one of Mauritius’s historic football clubs.

Often coming close to promotion in recent years, the ‘Villes Sœurs’ club finally broke the cycle, finishing second in the 2024/25 National Division One. Their rise back to the elite comes as a result of consistency, determination, and resilience throughout a highly competitive season.

USBBRH faced stiff competition in the form of AS Rivière-du-Rempart, who dominated the title race and earned promotion as champions. With only one promotion spot remaining, USBBRH edged out Curepipe Starlight SC in a tightly contested battle. The Rosehilliens secured their place thanks to 11 wins and 3 draws, collecting 36 points—just one point more than Curepipe.

“This promotion is a reward for years of perseverance,” said a club spokesperson. “We’ve come close before, but this time, the team showed character when it mattered most. Now, our focus turns to building a squad that can compete and bring pride back to Beau-Bassin/Rose-Hill.”

The return to the top-flight signals a new era for USBBRH, which aims to reestablish itself as a competitive force reminiscent of its successful early 2000s campaigns.

With promotion secured, preparations are already underway for the upcoming 2025/26 National Super League season. The club’s ambition is clear: to compete, grow, and reclaim its place among Mauritius’s football elite.
