NSL (Week 8): La Cure Waves run the show

The team in charge at the moment is clearly La Cure Waves. The Port-Louis side have established themselves firmly at the top, with Pamplemousses SC emerging as their only real challenger after the first eight rounds.

Five points – that’s the lead La Cure Waves enjoy at the summit. With just a single defeat so far, the Résidence La Cure outfit are asserting themselves as the true leaders of the Super League, ahead of Pamplemousses SC.

So far, only the northern side have managed to keep pace with the leaders. Pamplemousses SC, with a game in hand, could close the gap to just two points.

Behind the top two, Cercle de Joachim is losing ground. Defeated by Petite-Rivière-Noire FC, the reigning champions now trail the leaders by seven points, making the defence of their crown extremely difficult.

The same applies to Petite-Rivière-Noire FC, already eight points off the top at the halfway mark. Further down, the focus shifts to the battle against relegation.

Three teams occupy the mid-table: AS Vacoas/Phoenix, AS Rivière-du-Rempart, and Chebel Citizens are fighting hard to avoid slipping into the red zone.

At the bottom, PAS Mates are in serious trouble, sitting at the foot of the table with zero points. USBBRH and ASPL 200are locked in a tight battle to stay in the league.

The race promises to be intense, both for the title and for survival in the Super League, as the second half of the season gets underway.
