ND2 (After Week 8): La Cure Sylvester hold firm on top

La Cure Sylvester have moved into top spot as the ND2 championship approaches its halfway mark. After eight rounds, the Port-Louis-based side remain firmly in control at the summit, although a chasing trio continues to apply pressure and leaves little room for complacency.

With a game in hand, La Cure Sylvester close out 2025 sitting in the leaders’ chair and can look ahead to the new year with greater confidence. The Résidence La Cure outfit have suffered just one defeat so far, underlining their credentials as serious contenders in this promotion race.

Behind them, three teams are in pursuit. Mangalkhan SC lead the chase, sitting two points adrift of the leaders. The Curepipe-based club climbed into second place at the expense of US Trou-aux-Biches, who were held to a draw by Faucon Flacq in their latest outing.

Still with a match in hand, US Trou-aux-Biches remain well placed to close the gap and reassert themselves as La Cure Sylvester’s main challengers. In doing so, they continue to harbour realistic ambitions of finishing in one of the two promotion spots.

Plaine-Magnien Stars must also be considered in this battle. The newly promoted side have enjoyed an impressive start to the campaign and remain firmly in the leading pack, clearly eyeing a possible rise to the top division.

Further down the table, a gap has already opened up. ASQB and Faucon Flacq have fallen behind but are still battling to stay in contention, although promotion now appears a difficult prospect.

Meanwhile, the situation is even more precarious for Plaisance Peacock and Savanne SC, both currently rooted in the relegation zone, since the two youth teams of U17 and U18 are note concerned by this battle.
