MFA Projects Under FIFA Forward 3.0

Thanks to the subvention project approved by FIFA (under Forward 2.0 and 3.0) during the season 2023/2024, the MFA was able to financially assist all its 13 Regional Football Associations members and 26 National Clubs in view of their operation and authorized expenses for the season. In fact one of the strategic Objectives of the Mauritius Football Association (MFA) which is mentioned in the MFA Strategic plan 2021/2018 is to improve the competitiveness of the Mauritian Football at all levels. Thus, in investing into the future ,the MFA with FIFA’s support can look forward for a sustainable subvention programme for the next 3 seasons (2023/2024,2024/2025 & 2025/26).

Details concerning the two Subvention Project, supported by FIFA are as follows:

-“Subvention to National Leagues Clubs” for a Total Amount of 60,000,000 (MUR) equivalent to 1,333,928 (USD) over three seasons.

  • Super League Mur 1,200,000 per Team for One Season
  • Division 1 Mur 600,000 per Team for One Season
  • Division 2 Mur 400,000 per Team for One Season

“Subvention to Regional Football Associations (RFA)” for a Total Amount of 11,700,000 (MUR) equivalent to 260,116 (USD) over three seasons. Note that the list of Authorized Expenses for the RFA includes Referees fees/Allowance, Stadium Rental, Match officials and Equipment for Pitch Marking.

Another MFA Project supported by FIFA under the Forward Programme 3.0 include the Support to the Mauritius National Team in the context of their two Matches in November 2023 against Cameroon and Angola for the FIFA World Cup 2026 Qualifiers. The expenses for the National team was estimated at USD 156,606.

With the Forward 3.0, FIFA aims to provide a more comprehensive funding and support of football development projects across the world than ever before
