The Mauritius Football Association (MFA) and the S.L Benfica (SLB) plan to work together

The Mauritius Football Association is pleased to announce that on Tuesday, 19th October 2021, three of its representatives, Mr. Vikash Mootooveeren (Vice-President), Mr. Cyril Mourgine (Chairman and Executive member of the Women’s Football development committee) and Mr. Eddy Rose (Manager of the Training and High-Performance Centre of the MFA), accompanied by Mr. Archad Burahee (BestWay Soccer Director), were in Portugal to sign a technical partnership agreement with the S.L Benfica.

This partnership will last for 8 years and foresees the full-time presence of a Benfica’s Technical Coordinator at the Mauritius Football Association, to adapt the methodologies and the experience of Sport Lisboa e Benfica in the organization of youth football in the Republic of Mauritius. The Technical Coordinator will also collaborate with the MFA in the implementation and development of the National Coach Training program among the members of the Mauritius Football Association.

For the S.L Benfica, this is a first-time project and partnership, and is different from what they are used to. Hence, together with the MFA, both football parties are determined to offer their best possible to the Mauritian football. Furthermore, a delegation from Benfica is expected to come to Mauritius this November to finalize the agreement and set up their future plans.
